Lacey Hershberger, LMHC-A
Hello! I am so happy you are here.
Choosing to go to therapy is a huge step and can sometimes require a lot of bravery. I am so glad you have decided to take this step, whether it is with me or someone else. I believe therapy is a space where you get to come as you are and begin to process the things you may carry. Every person deserves to feel validated, supported, and held accountable in therapy. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where you feel comfortable and can explore your own personal challenges. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial in connecting with and supporting you as you begin to make changes in your life. I specialize in blending empathy with challenge, so you will feel supported as you are pushed to go further than your comfort zone.
I enjoy working with teenagers, adults, and those in the geriatric community, focusing on depression, anxiety, self-esteem, communication, relationship issues, and grief. I have a particular passion for working with adult males, as I believe this population is often discouraged to express their emotions and identify their feelings in healthy ways. I strive to create a space for these clients to open up and begin to cultivate these skills.
I graduated with my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Valparaiso University in 2022. I have experience working in a correctional facility as well as in outpatient therapy with ages 14 and up. I primarily utilize Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness strategies, and strengths-based techniques. However, each client is unique, so my ultimate goal is to tailor therapy specifically to each client and their needs.
Outside of my work, I love to read, run, and spend time with family and friends.
Take Care!
